Welcome to 2011.
May I wish all my readers a very happy New Year.
At this time of year I take the opportunity to have a look back at the year we have just brought to a close. I try to review all the positive things that have happened during the year. The positive and memorable things for me in 2010 were:
- Visiting Kew Gardens
- Spending my birthday on Lindisfarne
- Benammi attending the International Scout camp at Chatsworth House
- Benammi starting secondary school (I cannot believe where the time has gone!)
- Having a greenhouse in the garden again!
- Going to Hong Kong and Taiwan to teach
I then look forward to the coming year and think what I would like to do / achieve or visit.
I am not sure whether you set New Years resolutions or not but for the last few years we have sat down as a family and made a list of things that we would like to do singly and as a family during the coming year. We regularly review our lists and plan how we can achieve our wishes.
We find that it’s a good idea to set small milestones that are achievable for each month. I Write all the things that I want to achieve (business or otherwise) on post-it notes or small pieces of paper then when I have achieved them, I screw them up and at the next full or new moon burn them in a small fire. This is a great way of releasing all the things you have completed and clearing space for new things. You’ll be amazed at the size of the pile of papers as well. It really makes you feel like your getting somewhere
